Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions and their answers. If you can’t find an answer, feel free to email me your question.

I work using a blend of acrylic paint and gouache, once I have sketched out the image in pencil. Occasionally I use watercolour, but this is usually for smaller paintings or cards.

To ship your picture, I will package the work up securely and post it tracked through RoyalMail.

Throughout the commission process I can send you photos to update you on how the work is going. If it begins to not look like what you have in mind, I can easily adjust it until you are happy.

If you require the commission by a specific date, such as for a gift, please mention this in your email. I will make every effort to accommodate your request.

Questions about pet portraits

Yes, I can include multiple pets in a portrait for an additional fee. During our email correspondence, we can discuss how you would like each pet to be featured in the painting.

I work from photographs of your pet. Ideally, the photo is in focus and lit well. However, if you do not have or cannot get the perfect photo, sending multiple photos allows me to still have a reference to work from. Even a video would work!

If your beloved pet has passed away, I can still create a portrait using photos. I understand how much your pet means to you, and I would love to help preserve their memory through my artwork.

While I usually paint the portrait onto plain white artist quality paper, I can include a background at a small additional cost on request.
